Project Opportunity: Freelance EHS Consultant (2-3 Years Experience)

Level of Experience: 2-3 Years

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK

We are seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) consultant to provide temporary, full-time onsite support at a manufacturing facility in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

The site specializes in producing optical components for wearable Augmented Reality (AR) devices and has recently converted warehouse space for new manufacturing equipment installations.

Project Overview

The assignment involves supporting EHS functions, with a particular focus on chemical safety, while managing generalist EHS tasks. The consultant will work directly with the site's EHS Director, who requires additional support to ensure EHS processes do not hinder operations.

  • Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK
  • Start Date: Late April/Early May 2025
  • Duration: 3-6 Months initially
  • EHS Focus: Primarily chemical safety, with a generalist skill set
  • Required Certificates: TechIosh or above
Tasks:
  • Perform onsite safety walks to identify potential hazards
  • EH&S administrative support as needed (updating databases, etc.)
  • Review/update existing EHS programs under the direction of the site director
  • Assist with other EHS projects as assigned by the site director.
  • The consultant will operate under the main contractor's supervision and coordinate with an external project manager based in the U.S.
