Job summary

INDIGO FOOTWEAR UK LIMITED is seeking a creative Footwear Designer to join our Birmingham team. You will help develop upcoming women’s footwear collections, across multiple brands, with 2 years’ design experience to broaden your involvement in full design and development.

You’ll research fashion trends, create mood boards, develop concepts, and collaborate with suppliers through sampling, ensuring designs balance style, quality, price and commercial appeal.

Qualifications

• Around 2 years' footwear design experience.
• Strong eye for fashion, colour, proportion and detail.
• Understanding of footwear construction, materials and manufacturing.
• Experience creating CADs using Adobe Illustrator.
• Good sketching and visual communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Research fashion, footwear, colour, material and consumer trends.
• Create mood boards, colour palettes and seasonal concepts.
• Develop new footwear ideas from initial concept through to sample.
• Create sketches, technical drawings and CADs using Adobe Illustrator.
• Work with the wider team to develop and refine designs.
• Review samples and make design amendments.
• Work with suppliers throughout the sampling process.
• Manage multiple styles and sampling deadlines.
• Balance design, quality, price and commercial appeal.
