Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Junior Fellow in Cancer Care. Start date ASAP. This fixed-term 6-month post provides structured training with supervised clinical development aligned to the specialty training curriculum.

Fellows will gain exposure to inpatient care, day units, clinics, radiotherapy planning, and teaching sessions, with opportunities to tailor rotations toward oncology/haematology interests and to pursue subspecialty experience.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification is required.
• GMC registration with licence to practise is essential.
• ALS certification is desirable/required.
• Foundation years competencies or equivalent.
• Interest in oncology/haematology is advantageous.
• MRCP Part 1/2 written or MRCP PACES desirable.

Responsibilities

• Care for inpatients and day unit patients; participate in clinics and radiotherapy planning.
• Attend teaching sessions and contribute to audit/quality improvement.
• Work with cancer sciences department and bone marrow transplant unit; potential on-call duties as appropriate.
