Workshop Assistant - training to progress to Fabricator!

Paddock Wood - own transport ESSENTIAL

c.£28-34k dependent on skillset

Hours 6.30am 4pm Monday Friday (overtime possible weeknights and Saturday mornings)

Fantastic exclusive opportunity for a Prefabrication Assistant to join a successful, established organisation who cultivate a great working environment, based in the Paddock Wood area.

Duties include:

  • Working in a small team within a busy metal fabrication workshop using a range of hand tools
  • Reading technical drawings accurately
  • Supporting the fabrication process, learning the process within a metal fabrication environment
  • Using machinery and power tools
  • Maintaining the highest quality whilst working to productivity targets
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
  • Providing support to the wider team as required
  • Carrying out Quality Control checks as and when required
  • Accurately measuring to specification
  • Working to all health and safety rules and regulations

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Have some relevant experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Be interested in mechanics/mechanical engineering ideally demonstrated through qualifications/education or personal projects
  • A positive, upbeat personality with a genuine passion for work!
  • Have a clear desire to build a career within a business long term, able to demonstrate loyalty and commitment
  • Take pride in your attention to detail
  • Be able to read technical drawings and take accurate measurements
  • Have a good level of physical fitness
  • Be keen and enthusiastic to learn
