Job summary

Bhangals Construction Consultants Ltd in Northampton is seeking a full-time estimator to join our local team. You will set up estimating files, take-offs for residential and commercial projects, chase quotations, and interface with suppliers and subcontractors from enquiry to contract award.

Ideal candidates have a solid understanding of building and construction, be highly organized, analytical, and able to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• PQS background desirable but not essential.
• Main contractor background desirable but not essential.
• Experience in an estimating role desirable but not essential.
• Experience in taking off and pricing residential projects desirable but not essential.
• Experience in taking off for residential new builds desirable but not essential.
• Experience in estimating residential new builds desirable but not essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Set up estimating files upon receipt of enquiries, both electronically and on paper, and complete any further filing/addendums as they arise.
• Complete and maintain archives.
• Significantly interface with all supply chain members from suppliers and subcontractors on all aspects associated with tenders from enquiry to contract award.
• Chase supplier, subcontractor and manufacturer quotations.
• Take off residential and commercial projects.
• Maintain enquiry quotation register per contract.
• Complete estimating tasks.
• Assist in preparing a training manual to be used internally for training.
• Answer incoming telephones, take messages or redirect as appropriate.
• Undertake any other general support and administration duties as required from time to time.
• Provide support and assistance to colleagues and accounts team in peak periods.

Experience / Knowledge

• PQS background (possible)
