Job Description:

Enviresearch Ltd delivers regulatory and risk assessment services in Europe, for the global chemical industry. Highly regarded for our technical and regulatory expertise, we pride ourselves on providing bespoke customer support. We carry out advisory, scientific, technical, and regulatory support work for our clients. We provide services in a range of chemical legislation, but our environmental team’s main focus is on the registration of agrochemicals (Plant Protection Products Regulation 1107/2009) and biocidal products (Biocidal Products Regulation EU 528/2012).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide environmental modelling expertise to help assess the impacts of chemicals on the environment across a multitude of areas including agrochemicals, pesticides and occasionally also biocides and general chemicals.
  • Conduct regulatory environmental risk assessments of agrochemicals, utilising relevant guidance documents and a variety of computational / mathematical modelling tools (e.g. FOCUS models, EUSES etc.) in order to determine (and where appropriate refine), estimates of environmental exposure.
  • Prepare assessment reports and dossiers for regulatory authorities.
  • Undertake data analyses and interpretations, and literature reviews.
  • Liaise and negotiate with commercial clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure all standards are met and preparations, submissions and follow ups are carried out in a timely manner, to meet regulatory deadlines when applicable.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A PhD (or equivalent experience) in a numerate scientific discipline e.g., chemistry, maths, biology (or similar) and a second degree in an environmental discipline or similar.
  • Experience of computer simulation modelling and/or experience in environmental fate and behaviour and/or ecotoxicology of chemicals, preferably in a regulatory context.
  • A good understanding of risk assessment approaches.
  • Understanding of the data requirements for the models along with the ability to interpret data.
  • Key Skills: Risk assessment, environmental risk assessment, environmental fate, e-fate, regulatory affairs, reg affairs, registrations, modelling, data analysis, report writing, agrochemicals, pesticides, PPP, crop protection, plant protection, herbicide, fungicide, biocide, active substances.
  • Excellent understanding of environmental chemistry / ecotoxicology.
