Job Title: Junior Energy Transition Financial Analyst

Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

About the Role:

Our client is a forward-thinking consultancy dedicated to helping organisations transition to a sustainable, net-zero future. They combine expertise in finance, strategy, and clean technology, delivering impactful solutions to address climate change challenges. They are seeking a motivated Junior Climate Finance Analyst to join their team and contribute to their mission of driving decarbonisation through data-driven financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support investments in renewable energy and sustainable technologies.
  • Perform ESG and sustainability risk assessments, integrating non-financial metrics into valuation models.
  • Assist in preparing carbon footprint reports, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions analysis, for clients.
  • Support development of decarbonisation strategies, including cost analysis and implementation plans.
  • Build and maintain financial models like DCF, Monte Carlo simulations, and scenario analyses.
  • Provide market insights on investment strategies, climate policies, and emerging technologies.
  • Research clean technology investments, identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with teams to align with sustainability goals and client objectives.
  • Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong academic background in finance, economics, or sustainability.
  • MSc in Climate Change, Management, and Finance (preferred); BSc in Economics, Finance, or related fields.
  • Experience in financial modelling, including DCF, WACC, and scenario analysis.
  • Proficiency with tools like Excel, Bloomberg, Python.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for sustainability and climate change challenges.
  • Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ESG principles and carbon credit trading is beneficial.
  • Experience researching clean technology investments or assessing risks in emerging markets.
