Job summary

Travis Perkins plc in Northampton is recruiting a Junior Employee Relations Advisor to join the HR Shared Service Employee Relations team. The role combines office work (3/4 days) with some home-working (1/2 day per week), focusing on phone-based ER guidance and case handling across the group.

You will log calls, ensure legal and policy alignment, and support ER Specialists with admin tasks and project work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in working in a similar HR role.
• Strong communication skills and ability to advise remotely and over the phone.
• Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and data protection principles.
• Ability to handle complex or difficult HR cases with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing Employee Relations (ER) cases and provide ER advice over the phone.
• Log advisory calls on CRM, ensuring advice is compliant and well-documented.
• Provide end-to-end case management support for low-volume disputes.

We, at Travis Perkins Plc have an exciting and varied Junior Employee Relations Advisor opportunity within our highly engaged HR Shared Service Employee Relations team, based in Lodge Farm - Northampton.

You will assist in managing ER cases and provide effective, efficient, responsive and commercial Employee Relations advice and support over the phone to all businesses within the Group, with a continuous improvement mindset.

This role will be working from our Northampton office 3/4 days a week, with 1/2 days a week working from home.

Key Accountabilities:

• - Work towards providing first class advice and guidance on all Employee Relations matters over the telephone to


• Colleagues, Managers and Senior Leaders, logging advisory calls on a CRM tool. Ensuring advice given is;


• commercial, impartial, consistent, legally compliant and in line with company policies and procedures. Analysing


• and advising of any risks and/or costs to the business.


• - With support effectively and efficiently provide end-to-end case management support to managers of a low


• volume of dispute resolution case load (gross misconduct disciplinaries, appeals, grievances).


• - Supporting the Employee Relations Specialists, providing professional administrative support with a range of


• activities, e.g. medical referrals, letters, document collation for Subject Access Requests


• - Assist with Employee Relations related business projects as and when required.

This role is a full time position (37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday). It will enable you to take ownership of cases and will utilise your previous ER or HR experience within a fast paced environment. You’ll be utilising your strong communication skills via telephone to multisite internal stakeholders, with various cases.
