Fortress Safety is a rapidly growing organisation, headquartered in Wolverhampton, UK. Due to our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking an experienced and ambitious Junior Electronics Engineer.

As a Junior Electronics Engineer at Fortress Safety, you will support the design, testing, and implementation of hardware and embedded software to expand Fortress Safety’s product range. The role involves collaborating with engineering and project teams to ensure our products meet customer requirements and industry standards.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain hardware and embedded software for Fortress Safety products.
• Build prototypes.
• Conduct effective testing and diagnostics to validate product requirements.
• Assess and document products against specifications and standards.
• Write instructions, reports, and perform administrative duties.
• Coordinate with and support other departments.
• Identify areas of improvement in existing processes.
• Show initiative and stay updated with advancements in Electronics.

Requirements and Experience:

• A degree or similar qualification in Electronics Engineering or a comparable field.
• Experience in electronics hardware design, development, and testing, including PCB schematic design and layout (experience gained at university or similar).
• Experience in embedded firmware design, development, and testing (experience gained at university or similar).
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and bench power supplies.
• Understanding of new product development processes.
• Knowledge of EMC design and testing.
• Understanding of design validation processes like FMEA and DFM.
• Experience with firmware unit, integration, and system testing.
