Job summary

ALTEN, a global engineering and technology consultancy, is recruiting a Junior Electrical Engineer to manage instrumentation and control cabling and electrical design for the Hinkley Point C project in Bristol. You will ensure consistency and quality of cabling studies, support loop diagrams, I/O lists, and supplier interfaces while coordinating with I&C, systems, and suppliers on site.

On-site presence three days a week; BPSS clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in I&C cabling and electrical design in industrial or nuclear environments.
• Knowledge of loop diagrams, I/O lists, and control systems integration.
• Experience with cable routing, sizing, and installation design.
• Ability to consolidate supplier studies and resolve design issues.
• Familiarity with nuclear safety standards and regulated environments.
• Experience coordinating across multi-disciplinary engineering and supplier teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and consolidate cabling and electrical design inputs from I&C engineers, suppliers and system engineers.
• Produce and maintain Input-Output (I/O) Lists and interface documentation for turnkey contracts.
• Design and validate cable routing, sizing, and loop connections for compliance.
• Track supplier feedback maturity and manage interface changes.
• Liaise with installation teams to support on-site implementation.
