Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is hiring a Junior Electrical Engineer for our Fareham team. You will assist in designing electrical building services, produce drawings and contribute to M&E coordination on diverse projects across healthcare, education, commercial, residential and industrial sectors.

You will work alongside senior engineers to develop technical skills, gain exposure to design calculations and site visits, and progress within a supportive, learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• An interest in electrical building services and the construction industry.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.
• Good attention to detail and an organised approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of electrical building services systems for a variety of projects.
• Produce and update electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Support senior engineers with electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Assist with the selection and specification of electrical equipment and systems.
• Contribute to the development of coordinated M&E design solutions.
• Review drawings and information from other disciplines to ensure effective coordination.
• Attend project and design meetings where required.
• Liaise with colleagues, clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with site visits, surveys and inspections.
• Support the preparation of project documentation and technical submissions.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, regulations and industry guidance.
• Develop an understanding of energy efficiency, low-carbon design and sustainable building services.
• Work collaboratively with the wider mechanical, electrical and sustainability teams.
