A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to work in the Industrial automation sector near Spalding. The role includes responsibilities such as designing PLC wiring and assisting in project commissioning. Qualifications

Job description

Role: Junior Electrical Design Engineer

Salary: GBP 33,000 - GBP 38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Type: Permanent

Location: Near Spalding

My client works within the Industrial automation industry and they are looking to take on a Junior Electrical Design Engineer, on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Designing PLC wiring, schematics, and panel layouts using AutoCAD and Amtech.
  2. Calculating LV distribution and cables.
  3. Assisting in project commissioning and safety validation.
  4. Generating control schematic diagrams, cable block/ instrument loop diagrams, PLC wiring diagrams, and I/O schedules.
  5. Liaising with site teams to meet project deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. BTEC and/or NVQ3 in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
  2. Knowledge of safety circuits and machine safety; understanding of component SIL and machine PL ratings is advantageous but training can be provided.
  3. Knowledge of PLC control wiring, instrumentation, and motor starter control types.
  4. An understanding of controls design and industrial automation.
  5. A full UK driving license.
