Job summary

Une entreprise de défense recherche un Draughtsperson pour rejoindre son équipe de conception mécanique. Vous serez responsable de la conception et du soutien d'un portefeuille de produits aérospatiaux pour des applications militaires et civiles. Le rôle nécessite de solides compétences techniques en CAO avec une approche méthodique pour maintenir la documentation de conception. Les candidats doivent avoir un diplôme en ingénierie mécanique ou une expérience pertinente, ainsi qu'une familiarité avec les secteurs hautement régulés.

Qualifications

• Diplôme en ingénierie mécanique ou une expérience similaire.
• Expérience dans un bureau de conception mécanique est bénéfique.
• Connaissance de l'industries hautement régulées (Aéronautique, Défense, Médical) est un plus.

Responsibilities

• Modification de produits avec SolidWorks et AutoCAD.
• Collaboration avec d'autres ingénieurs pour mettre en œuvre des changements.
• Production et modification de dessins détaillés pour fabrication.

Copello is working with a defence client who is looking for a Draughtsperson to join their Mechanical Design team, responsible for designing, developing, and supporting a portfolio of aerospace products for military and civilian applications.

This role is ideally suited to an organized, proactive, and self-motivated individual with a methodical approach to maintaining engineering product design documentation.

In this role, you will support the legacy and development of current and next-generation products using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD).

Key responsibilities

• Modification of new and existing products using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) & 2D (AutoCAD).
• Checking, authoring, and implementing (CR/CO) design changes, specifications, and other data related to product build standards.
• Evaluating and considering the impact of changes on the product while considering cost (UPC) and maintenance requirements.
• Assessing the effect of changes (CR/CO) on product conformance with performance specifications.
• Performing basic tolerance analysis of design changes, with a good understanding of inspection metrology methods, GD&T, and standard tolerance methods.
• Collaborating with other engineers and departments to implement changes.
• Assisting in investigations of product failures.
• Providing support to manufacturing.
• Producing and modifying detailed drawings for component manufacture and product assembly, including piece parts, assembly, family tree, installation drawings, and data sheets.
• Generating and managing parts lists and BOMs.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND, or OND/ONC in Mechanical Engineering or similar (experience will also be considered).
• Experience working in a mechanical design office is beneficial.
• Experience working in highly regulated industries (Aerospace, Defence, Medical, Nuclear) is beneficial.
• Experience implementing mechanical design solutions through the Life Cycle Management process.
• This role could be suitable for a first placement in industry or a seasoned draftsperson.
