Job description

AIS is looking for an enthusiastic junior development chemist to join our growing R&D team. The successful candidate will have a love for all things chemistry and will assist with project leadership and development resources for the formulation, analysis, testing, and optimisation of fire protection and insulation products for the energy sector.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing vital support to New Product Development.
  2. Assisting with development and evaluation of new materials, products, and processes.
  3. Formulation of new products to meet customer requirements.
  4. Reformulation of existing products for performance and cost benefits.
  5. Conducting raw material suitability assessments.
  6. Sample preparation and testing in line with industry specifications.
  7. Regularly reporting all work accurately and concisely.
  8. Working in accordance with quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems.

Ideal candidates will be:

  • Educated to BSc or MSc in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experienced with hands-on practical laboratory tasks.
  • Capable of following precise instructions.
  • Highly organized, consistent, and reliable in completing tasks.
  • Confident in presenting results.
  • Unfazed under pressure and comfortable working independently.
  • Enthusiastic about product development and technical discovery.
  • Motivated by a chemistry-focused career with potential to contribute across various chemical technologies, delivering growth in a dynamic market.
