Job summary

Marine Resources in Southampton is seeking a Junior Designer to join their design office, contributing to composites, mechanical, interior and exterior systems on multi-discipline projects.

You will produce detailed 3D models and drawings, collaborate with production teams and external clients, and help deliver complete technical designs for new build vessels under guidance from senior designers. A background in marine design and proficiency in Rhino and AutoCAD are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in marine engineering design, ideally luxury yacht sector, with a relevant degree.

Responsibilities

• Project-based design from concept to delivery with production teams.
• Produce detailed 3D models and drawings for in-house and subcontract facilities.
• Deliver designs for vessels, including tooling, composites and mechanical systems.
• Incorporate small craft system elements into master 3D models with Engineering.
• Create and maintain design-led bills of materials for each project.
• Research new equipment, materials, systems and design solutions.
• Collaborate with shop floor to optimize production-led solutions and capture as-built info.
