Job summary

Marine Resources Recruitment Ltd in Southampton seeks a Junior Designer to join their design office. You will work on project-based designs across composites, mechanical, interior and exterior disciplines, reporting to the Design Office Manager and delivering complete technical designs with guidance from the team.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in marine design, a relevant degree, and proficiency in Rhino 3D and AutoCAD, plus MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years in marine engineering design, yacht sector preferred.
• BEng or MEng in marine/ mechanical engineering.
• Portfolio of prior work is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Project-based design, collaborating with production on custom projects from concept to delivery.
• Produce detailed 3D models and drawings for tooling, composites, and fabrication.
• Deliver input for vessels including tooling, composite, and mechanical systems.
• Integrate small craft systems into master 3D models with engineering.
• Create and maintain design-led BOMs for each project.
• Research new equipment, materials and design solutions.
• Collaborate with shop floor to optimize production-led solutions.
• Mentor junior team members.
