Job summary

Sidigital, a Portsmouth-based digital design and development agency, is seeking a Junior Designer to join our creative team. You’ll work closely with the Lead Designer to refine your skills and deliver high-quality designs for clients.

You will split time between client work and internal marketing design, producing wireframes, interfaces, social assets, and brand collateral while staying on brand and on brief.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional design experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating brand-led creative and digital work.
• Solid understanding of design principles and print.

Responsibilities

• Client Work: build wireframes, high‑fidelity prototypes, and scalable design systems in Figma.
• Design interfaces that are on‑brand, functional, and meet briefs.
• Create assets for social, infographics, brochures, banners, and emails.
• Deliver high‑quality client assets within brand guidelines.
• Maintain consistency across client work and brand identity.
• Internal Marketing Design: turn briefs into polished assets for publishing.
• Design social assets for LinkedIn and other channels from clear briefs.
• Create visuals for blog posts, case studies, and content.
• Keep assets aligned with brand identity across formats.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be splitting your time across two key deliverables for the agency; internal marketing and client work.

Client Work

You’ll be diving into client work. This includes:

• Building wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and scalable design systems using Figma.
• Designing interfaces that look right and work properly, on-brand, functional, and built to the brief.
• Crafting engaging visual assets, including social media graphics, infographics, brochures, banners, emails, and brand collateral.
• Designing and delivering high-quality assets that meet our client’s briefs.
• Working accurately within established brand guidelines and seeing tasks through cleanly.

Internal Marketing Design

You'll take our marketing strategy and make it visible, turning briefs and written content into finished assets that are consistent, on-brand, and ready to publish. This part of the role includes:

• Design assets that work within the marketing strategy.
• Designing social media assets across LinkedIn and other channels, working from copy and a clear brief.
• Creating supporting visuals for blog posts, case studies, and other written content.
• Maintaining visual consistency across everything we put out, keeping assets aligned with our brand identity.
• Adapting and resizing assets across formats and platforms as needed.

About You

• 1+ years of professional design experience, or BA (Hons) Graphic Design or a related subject with a strong portfolio to support it.
• Strong portfolio showcasing brand-led creative and digital work.
• Strong conceptual thinking and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills.
• Solid understanding of design principles.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with your line manager.
• Good communication skills with the ability to listen, present ideas clearly, and collaborate effectively.
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
• Proactive problem-solver with a can‑do attitude.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment.
• Someone who takes a brief seriously, asks the right questions, and delivers on time.
• Familiarity with animation and motion applications, like Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
• Basic video editing skills.
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS.
• An understanding of designing for print and print processes. While we are primarily a digital agency, we do love a bit of print too.
