Job summary

ASG International is seeking a Junior 3D Technical Designer in Manchester for hybrid working. You will help turn ambitious concepts into immersive retail spaces, pop-ups and brand activations, bridging creative concepts with production details.

You’ll develop production-ready drawings, work with materials and fabrication considerations, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver designs on time and within budgets.

Qualifications

• Around two years’ relevant experience in a creative agency or retail design environment.
• Strong SolidWorks skills and ability to produce production-ready drawings.
• Understanding of materials, manufacturing methods and assembly processes.
• Degree in Product or Industrial Design, or comparable practical experience.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Ability to balance creative ideas with technical accuracy and practical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate, production-ready technical drawings in SolidWorks.
• Develop designs for pop-ups, brand activations and permanent retail environments.
• Translate concepts into workable solutions considering materials and fabrication.

We’re looking for a Junior 3D Technical Designer to help turn ambitious creative concepts into immersive retail spaces, pop-ups and brand activations for some of the world’s most recognised brands.

This is an opportunity to combine your creativity with practical design skills, working alongside experienced designers to develop spaces that catch attention and create memorable customer experiences.

The Role

You’ll help bridge the gap between creative concepts and physical production, developing detailed technical drawings and practical solutions that bring each design to life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing accurate, production-ready technical drawings in SolidWorks.
• Developing designs for pop-ups, brand activations and permanent retail environments.
• Translating creative concepts into workable solutions, considering materials, fabrication and assembly.
• Collaborating with creative and technical teams throughout project development and delivery.
• Ensuring drawings communicate the detail needed for manufacture and installation.
• Supporting delivery against project briefs, budgets and deadlines.
• Contributing ideas and solving technical challenges while maintaining the original creative vision.

About You

You’re a designer with a keen eye for detail, an interest in retail environments and a curiosity about how things are made.

• Around two years’ relevant experience, ideally within a creative agency or retail design environment.
• Strong SolidWorks skills, with experience creating technical drawings for production.
• An understanding of materials, manufacturing methods and assembly processes.
• A degree in Product or Industrial Design, or comparable practical experience gained through a manufacturing or production apprenticeship.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• The ability to balance creative ideas with technical accuracy and practical requirements.

Experience with KeyShot, SketchUp, V-Ray, Cinema 4D or Adobe Creative Suite would be useful, but isn’t essential- training and support are available.
