Location: Unit 34, Ravenscraig Road, Little Hulton, M38 9PU

Salary: Competitive

Job type: Full Time - Permanent. 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 4pm on Friday

Job Overview:

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Junior Designer to join our inhouse talented design team. You will support the development of our offer to the high street's leading destination for homewares through originating hand painted artwork and CAD design. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career designer with a passion for pattern, colour and home textiles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating original design across various homeware products.
  • Manipulating design to be in repeat and colour reduced
  • Preparing design files for the colouring studio
  • Ensuring artwork files are print ready for bulk production
  • Producing layouts to send to suppliers.
  • Market place and customer research to develop focused design
  • Contribute to the development of seasonal trend boards and design concepts.
  • Participate in design meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
  • Collaborate with the wider team, Product development and Account managers.
  • Provide general support to Design Manager and Design lead.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Textile Design, Surface Pattern or related design discipline
  • Strong drawing and painting skills with an eye for detail, layout and composition
  • Understanding of repeat patterns and print technique
  • Proficiency in photoshop or related design package.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work solely and as part of a team.
  • Passionate about home décor, textiles and emerging design trends
  • A team player with good communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Portfolio showcasing artwork and different hand writings is essential.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with digital/rotary fabric printing processes
  • Knowledge of embroidery & woven design
  • Experience of NED Graphics or AVA design software
