Job description

We are looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join our clients Product Development team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and practically-minded individual with a passion for design and engineering.

You will support the future development and continuous improvement of our product range, working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities
-Prepare manufacturing drawings and documentation for both existing and new products
-Draft sheet metal drawings using SolidWorks and from physical product evaluations
-Assist in creating work instructions for the assembly of Armorgard products
-Modify existing drawings to support continuous product improvement initiatives
-Support Product Design Engineers in delivering project work to deadlines
-Contribute to basic electrical assembly work and support circuit design tasks
-Assist in developing product literature such as user manuals and instructions
-Take a hands-on approach to ensure quality and design specifications are met
-Produce bespoke CAD models based on specific requirements
-Support the Head of Product Development with ad hoc project work

Skills & Experience Required
-Exposure to product design (mechanical or electrical) preferred. However, graduates or those that have recently completed an apprenticeship would also be considered.
-Familiarity with CAD systems such as SolidWorks is preferred
-Basic knowledge of electrical components is a plus
-Practical mindset, with hands-on experience through hobbies, workshop tasks, or similar
-Strong communication and teamwork skills
-Highly organised and able to meet deadlines
-Willingness to learn and operate basic workshop tools
-Enthusiastic and proactive attitude
