About Our Client

Job Description

  • Strong expertise in data governance, data quality, metadata management, data profiling, analysis, and data management tools.
  • Lead the implementation of data governance practices within the Risk and Finance domains, aligning with BCBS239 regulatory standards.
  • Owns the end-to-end data definition, lineage, and governance responsibilities for prioritised use cases.
  • Oversee changes to business data requirements, ensuring proper execution of change and release management activities within the data domains.
  • Contributes to meeting regulatory requirements by helping establish processes that deliver accurate, complete, timely, and reliable data.
  • Collaborates with divisional stakeholders to develop and implement data standards and drive adoption across EMEA.
  • Participate in various data governance and program-level forums to strengthen the bank's overall data governance framework.
  • Works closely with business, compliance, technology, and other teams to define and communicate data-related business requirements for initiative planning and prioritization.
  • Supports investigations into data quality issues, developed remediation plans, and recommended solutions to resolve root causes.
  • Maintains consistent communication with cross-functional teams to provide updates, ensure alignment, and track progress effectively.

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in data governance, data quality, profiling, and data analysis.
  • In-depth understanding of BCBS239 requirements, gained through work in Tier 1 and Tier 2 banking environments.
  • Experienced in engaging and communicating effectively with senior leadership, including board-level stakeholders.
  • Skilled in interpreting complex data structures and performing advanced calculations within Risk and Finance domains.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Risk and Finance data landscape, including data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements across business and technology functions.
  • Able to take an enterprise-wide view, avoiding siloed approaches to data management and governance.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a proven ability to implement effective, practical solutions.
  • Demonstrates strong stakeholder management skills, securing buy-in and collaboration across EMEA teams.
  • Works closely with business stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues, escalating blockers through appropriate governance forums.
  • Solid understanding of physical, logical, and business data models.
  • Experienced in business process modelling using tools like Microsoft Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective team player with the ability to operate independently and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Strong presentation skills and a confident, professional communication style.
  • Self-driven and resilient, able to manage and resolve complex challenges independently.
  • Holds a university degree or equivalent experience, ideally in a quantitative or related discipline.
  • Familiar with Collibra and other data governance platforms.
