Job summary

Morela is supporting a private, family-owned real estate investment group in London by hiring a Junior Data Engineer. The role writes production code, builds data pipelines and supports asset management data workflows in a hands-on environment.

Open to exceptional graduates through to those with up to three years’ experience, offering a salary of £40,000-£60,000 depending on experience and an ASAP start ahead of a September 20, 2026 closing date.

Qualifications

• A rigorous degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
• Strong programming fundamentals in Python, TypeScript and SQL with practical evidence.
• Understanding of relational databases, data modelling, APIs and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Care for readable code, testing, version control and production readiness.
• Ability to trace data across systems and verify solutions.
• Commercially minded with willingness to own and scale a platform.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a Python codebase and database for data ingestions, cleaning and validation.
• Build REST APIs to support an internal platform.
• Investigate data inconsistencies, write validation rules and document definitions.
• Automate workflows from manual tasks into reliable processes.
• Create dashboards, reports, alerts and internal tools for multiple teams.
• Develop document extraction and LLM-based workflows with testing and review.
• Write clean, tested code, use version control, monitor jobs and maintain docs.
