Job summary

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is seeking an Assistant Analyst to help digitise and reconcile portfolio client data for the Data Warehouse, and to produce standardized client financial reports for risk monitoring and portfolio analytics.

The role involves ensuring data quality, supporting Equity Fair Value processes, and delivering insightful analytics while collaborating with cross-functional teams. A hybrid London-based work arrangement and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• University degree in finance/economics/business, mathematics/econometrics/computer science or related subject from a leading university in the country of education.
• Quantitative/numerical skills are essential with the ability to interpret financial information and understand financial accounts and reports.
• Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office 365 applications, Excel (VBA is a plus).
• Knowledge of data, databases and statistical systems a plus; Knowledge of SQL with the ability to query, extract, manipulate, and validate data from large datasets is desirable and knowledge of reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI or other strongly appreciated.
• Good understanding of IT systems and processes
• Good written and oral communications skills in English, especially in translating technical knowledge to non-technical audience.
• Knowledge in any second language (or languages) would be a strong advantage.
• Motivation, great attention to detail, good time management, ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to organise and prioritise a high volume of tasks.
• Resilience and ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with financial systems, aggregated data analyses and curiosity to achieve numerical efficiency.
• Interest in finance, investment, banking, capital markets and related fields.
• Ability to learn and work independently in a remote working setting.
• Coding language knowledge (e.g. Python) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Data Input, validation and reconciliation of client financial data to produce a single source of truth.
• Generation of client financial data summary reports highlighting potential concerns and macro-economic impacts.
• Systematised flagging of data management breaches and late submissions.
• Contributing to Equity Fair Value process data inputs and aggregated portfolio analytics.
• Supporting onboarding of new hires with data management and system training.
