Job summary

ESP Utilities Group in Leatherhead, United Kingdom is seeking a junior Data & AI Engineer to join the Technology team. This role focuses on data analytics, automation and AI to identify opportunities, realise efficiency savings, minimise risks and improve customer service.

Based onsite in our Leatherhead office, you will analyse large datasets, develop automation solutions, and support the data platform while learning new technologies with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Aptitude for understanding IT software, systems and highly technical solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of relevant scripting languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Java Script).
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Fabric, Power BI.
• Willingness to learn new technologies; full training provided.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including experience with data analytics.
• Positive and innovative approach; empathise with business users' issues.
• Collaborative and not confrontational in approach.
• Eye for improvements and efficiency gains.
• Confident and professional communications, incl. presenting.
• Solid working knowledge of standard Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret data from a range of sources – using technical, analytical and communication skills to collect and examine data to help provide management insight to make better informed decisions and solve problems.
• Development of automation solutions – understanding business processes and requirements and identifying appropriate solutions to improve business efficiency and customer outcomes through the use of automation and AI.
• Support and maintain the data platform and automation solutions to ensure ongoing integrity of the environment.
• Inspire stakeholders to recognise opportunities beyond their current understanding and articulate future alternatives.
• Share regular presentations – with audiences at all levels within the business as appropriate to help illustrate project progress, achievements, challenges, and strategy.
• Support the system Super User community – reviewing feedback and delivering actions from the community outputs.
• Hands-on support / participation in system testing – on an as required basis to track back to the original business requirements.
