Job summary

Magnet in Darlington is seeking a motivated Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join our IT team. You will monitor security alerts, support security tools, and help protect our systems, data and colleagues.

This is an excellent early-career opportunity for someone passionate about technology and security to develop skills in a fast-paced environment. The role includes some travel to other sites and a 39-hour week with 2/3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Interest in IT and cyber security.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills.
• Some exposure to IT support or security technologies.
• Ability to follow processes and document clearly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and flag potential threats.
• Support daily operation of security tools (endpoint protection, email security, SIEM).
• Assist with vulnerability management and remediation tracking.
• Investigate security incidents with IT colleagues.
• Maintain security policies and documentation.
• Promote security awareness and culture.
• Manage workloads using ticketing systems.
• Act as a point of contact for security queries and escalations.
