Job summary

British Airways in the United Kingdom is seeking a Junior Cyber Product Owner to support the delivery and management of cybersecurity products and services across the organisation. You will work with product owners, security engineers, and stakeholders to define product requirements and ensure that security solutions meet business needs and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) focusing on security controls.

Responsibilities

  • Support defining and delivering cybersecurity products and services in line with BA strategy and objectives.
  • Maintain backlogs and ensure security features are clearly defined, prioritised, and tracked.
  • Contribute to roadmaps and release plans for timely delivery of security capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cyber engineering, architecture and compliance to translate requirements into actions.
  • Engage with stakeholders and suppliers to communicate product strategy and benefits to BA's security posture.

Junior Cyber Product Owner

The Junior Cyber Product Owner supports the delivery and management of cybersecurity products and services across the organisation. Working with product owners, security engineers, and stakeholders, the role helps define product requirements, prioritise features, and ensure that security solutions meet business needs and compliance standards. This position is key in coordinating day-to-day activities, tracking progress, and maintaining alignment between technical teams and business objectives.

What You’ll Do
  • Support defining and delivering cyber security products and services in line with the organisation’s strategy and objectives
  • Help maintain product backlogs, ensuring security features and improvements are clearly defined, prioritised, and tracked
  • Assist in developing product roadmaps and release plans, contributing to the timely delivery of security capabilities
  • Work closely with cyber engineering, architecture and compliance to understand technical requirements and translate them into actions
  • Actively engage with business stakeholders and third party suppliers to communicate our product strategy and the benefits its brings BA’s security posture
  • Contribute to stakeholder communication by preparing updates, progress reports, and presentations for product reviews and governance meetings
  • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to inform continuous improvement of security products and services
  • Collaborate with other product owners and teams to ensure consistent security practices and alignment across related products
Skills, Capabilities & Experience
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and domains (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001), including cloud security, identity management, and vulnerability management
  • Experience working with or across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, ideally with a focus on security controls and architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into technical product requirements and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and track progress effectively
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and an ability to identify risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams
  • Proactive and curious approach to learning new technologies, tools, and ways of working
  • Basic understanding of product management concepts, such as product lifecycle, value delivery, and stakeholder engagement
