Job Overview

The Royal Alexandra and Albert School exists to give our children a distinctly different start in life, preparing them for the world with hope, optimism, compassion, and empathy.

We are a co-educational, non-selective state boarding school for boys and girls aged 7-18. This is a boarding school with Flexi Boarding students attending from the local area and a lively community of around 300 Full Boarders, passionately involved in a wide range of after-school and weekend activities and trips.

Position: Junior Credit Controller (Temporary)

The successful candidate will assist the Senior Credit Controller in a busy accounts department, handling basic credit control procedures, debt collection, and demonstrating the following technical and professional skills:

  • Basic Financial Knowledge: Understanding invoices, payment terms, and credit policies.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting systems and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Awareness of debt collection laws and ethical practices.

The candidate should also possess the following core skills and attributes:

  • Effective Communication: Clear, confident interaction with clients and internal teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in record-keeping and discrepancy identification.
  • Negotiation & Persuasion: Encouraging timely payments while maintaining client relationships.
  • Problem-Solving: Handling disputes and analyzing reasons for delayed payments.
  • Time Management: Prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Customer Service Skills: Handling difficult conversations professionally and empathetically.
  • Teamwork & Independence: Collaborating with finance teams and managing own workload.
