Arcadis is seeking a Junior Consultant Town Planner to contribute to the town planning team in Glasgow, supporting delivery for clients and building relationships within Arcadis and beyond.

You will work in an integrated planning and environmental team, handling projects across sectors and developing professional skills in planning policy, development planning, and client engagement.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, RTPI or equivalent preferred.
• Competent in town planning skills (development planning, planning policy, infrastructure planning).
• Eligibility for Chartered status or equivalent accreditation.
• Relevant experience in town planning or related profession.
• Advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications.

Role Description

As a Junior Consultant Town Planner, you will be contributing to the success of the town planning team in Arcadis, supporting the wider team to win and deliver great work for our clients and to build positive relationships within Arcadis and beyond. You will be an important part of an integrated planning and environmental team, delivering projects for a range of clients with opportunities to work across multiple sectors.

Role Accountabilities

• Deliver high-quality technical work as part of a team, ensuring relevant professional guidance, policy and practice is adhered to.
• Work with senior colleagues to manage your time effectively to ensure timely delivery and effective utilisation.
• Work collaboratively with other sectors/disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall solution.
• Develop effective working relationships with project leads and where appropriate, with the client, and ensure communication of progress and changes.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client’s business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to consolidate personal and company credibility in the industry.
• Proactively understand and engage with relevant Arcadis policies, procedures and processes and carry out the accountability of the role in accordance with Arcadis General Business Principles.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, preferably accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent.
• Competent in town planning skills relevant to area of work (e.g. development planning, planning policy, infrastructure planning) and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Eligibility for achieving Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Relevant experience in town planning or directly relevant profession, with some experience applying key principles in practice.
• Advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Effective technical, project management, client relationship management and commercial skills.
• An understanding of Environmental, Safety and Risk Management.
