Millbank is looking for aJunior Compliance Officerto work alongside the MRLO to ensure that our sanction screening and business transactions follow all relevant legal and internal obligations.

Location:Bank, London

Job Type:Full-time, Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Review transaction monitoring alerts generated by compliance systems and escalate unusual matters to the MLRO.
• Investigate, analyse, and identify AML escalations which may lead to filing suspicious activity reports as required by law.
• Break down corporate structures and identify Ultimate Beneficial Owners and Directors.
• Ensure AML risks associated with transaction activities are effectively identified and mitigated.
• Conduct screening checks for new customer’s and associated parties against sanction, PEP, adverse media.
• Perform ongoing monitoring checks for existing customer-base against sanctions, PEP adverse media.
• Perform due diligence checks on third party transactions to ensure the industry falls in line with our customer’s business.
• Stay up to date with AML related news and regulatory developments.

Requirements:

• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and learn new tools quickly.
• Exceptional writing skills and ability to effectively communicate complex matters.
• Well-organised and good at multitasking.
• Track-record at keeping good composure in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Experience in conducting alerts reviews, investigations, and handling transaction monitoring remediations.
• Understanding of corporate structures and KYC requirements.
• Willingness to learn compliance processes and develop skills.
• The ability to take direction and act quickly.
• ICA certification is a plus.

Remuneration

• £30k-£35k Base salary (Dependent on skillset/experience)
