About the roleWe are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commercial Finance Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. This role will support the EMEA Finance Business Partner in delivering key financial insights and commercial analysis to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities Include:• Support EMEA Finance BP and the sales team by providing timely and insightful financial analysis to inform both short- and long-term business decisions, leveraging both internal and external data.
• Support month-end reporting processes by preparing detailed financial analysis, commentary, and variance reports.
• Assist the EMEA Finance Business Partner with the review and analysis of Joint Business Plan (JBP) documents, ensuring accuracy, commercial viability, and alignment with business objectives.
• Produce and maintain trading Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, helping to monitor commercial performance across various regions and accounts.
• Analyse pricing and promotional plans, challenge assumptions where necessary, and make recommendations to optimize profitability and commercial outcomes
• Assist in preparation for monthly P&L review meetings with Commercial team members, ensuring they understand their financial performance and key drivers.
• Actively contribute to monthly channel team meetings from a finance perspective, highlighting performance insights and trends.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operational teams to gather data and insights to support financial planning and forecasting activities
• Assist in providing ad-hoc decision support for the Sales team, including analysis of trading agreements, sales proposals, and evaluation of profit and cash impacts.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of “what-if” scenarios and risk assessments to evaluate commercial opportunities, pricing, and promotional strategies.
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders such as Demand Planning, Operations Finance, and Pricing & Promo Analysts to ensure alignment and support for decision-making.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of pricing, promotions, and accrual data in Anaplan in collaboration with Account Managers and Analysts.
• Experience - Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Analytical Skills - Strong ability to analyse data using Excel, Anaplan, ReportsNow, Cognos & JDE.
• Technical Aptitude - Part qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant with a drive to improve their technical knowledge.
• Communication Skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders.
• Attention to detail - High level of accuracy and is able to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies and proactively work to resolve them.
• Initiative - Has a proactive mindset and is always looking to improve process. Takes ownership and can work independently.
• Teamwork - Can take a collaborative approach and contribute positively to the Commercial Finance Team offering feedback and supporting peers.
Some business travel may be required from time to time
