Junior Commercial Analyst - Strategic Markets

The Junior Commercial Analyst at Protein Works plays a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making and delivering actionable insights to support our commercial strategy. As part of the Commercial Team, you will report directly to the Commercial Director and collaborate closely with Squads and other departments. This role is pivotal in analysing performance metrics, optimising commercial strategies, and supporting the delivery of sustainable growth across all DTC markets.

Your analytical acumen and attention to detail will be essential in uncovering opportunities to enhance revenue, gross margin, and AOV while safeguarding the customer experience and aligning with the brand's strategic goals. You will work cross-functionally, building your reputation as a trusted partner and future leader in the business.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support Squads to deliver consistent, sustainable and compelling revenue growth.
  • Lead Product & Customer cohort analysis to drive customer LTV.
  • Develop and maintain forecasting models to improve adherence and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to refine pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Support revenue growth through customer segmentation analysis and targeted campaign recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence to ensure accurate data integration and reporting.
  • Communicate insights and strategic recommendations to Squads and senior stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the impact of trading strategies on Gross Margin and other commercial KPIs.
  • Develop pricing strategies for new product launches and lifecycle management actions.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support strategic projects and day-to-day trading activities.
  • Monitor delivery proposition vs the competition, & suggest changes to maximising profit whilst driving AOV.
  • Maintain the delivery matrix across all stores ensuring 100% accuracy and agility to business needs.
  • Test, optimise and check all trading-related functions of website releases.
  • Surface insights on product portfolio performance highlighting risks, mitigations and opportunities
  • Monitor and surface insights into the rubix cube of unit sales, ASP, product mix to deliver AOV growth.
  • Analyse and report on performance metrics, including Order Volume, AOV, Gross Margin, and Conversion Rates.
  • Generate actionable insights from data to inform pricing, promotions, and product strategies.
  • Conduct deep dives into SKU-level data to identify slow movers, high performers, and opportunities for range optimisation.

  • Strong foundational analytical skills, with experience in tools like Excel and basic SQL; familiarity with Tableau or other data platforms is a plus.
  • A developing understanding of key commercial concepts such as revenue drivers, pricing strategies, and margin analysis.

  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and CRM systems or a willingness to learn quickly.
