A leading NHS Trust seeks a Fellow in Emergency General Surgery to provide senior surgical input to patients at all stages of care. The role involves emergency theatre access, rotations in Upper and Lower GI, and participation in multidisciplinary teams. Applicants should possess GMC registration and clinical experience in surgical specialties, with opportunities for career development within a supportive environment.
The appointed fellow will provide senior surgical input to emergency general surgery patients at all stages from initial triage and assessment to surgery and post-operative care. Duties include oncall at middle grade level with access to emergency theatre if the fellow is on call or assessment/admission of emergencies in A& E, surgical assessment unit/ SCDU when on normal duties.
The successful candidates will be able to rotate between Upper GI and Lower GI with dedicated MDTS. We are the 4th largest colorectal cancer resection unit in the UK.
