Job summary

Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow (SHO level) at Birmingham Women\'s and Children\'s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post is available from February 2026 for a period of 6 months and is based at the Birmingham Children\'s Hospital site. The post has the potential to be extended to 12 months by mutual agreement.

The successful applicant will join the team providing care for children undergoing both secondary and tertiary ENT surgery. This post is not formally recognised for training but ample opportunity exists to gain experience in the management of children in the perioperative period and in managing childhood ENT emergencies. The successful candidate will also be able to participate in audit and research within the department.

The post may suit an aspiring surgical trainee or a paediatric trainee (FY2/ST1 level) wishing to broaden their experience. The post does not require any out of hours commitment.

Main duties of the job

To provide experience in Paediatric ENT Surgery whilst maintaining the ENT service at Birmingham Children\'s Hospital NHS Trust.
