Job description

Our client is seeking a Junior Client Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis. Based in Jersey, this is an ideal opportunity for someone starting their accountancy career to gain valuable experience in corporate and fund administration within a supportive and professional environment. The role offers the chance to learn from experienced colleagues, take on increasing responsibility over time, and work towards a professional qualification.

Job Duties:

  • Perform bookkeeping for a range of client entities, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Carry out full reviews of own work prior to submission for further review
  • Progress towards handling more complex client accounting as knowledge and experience grow
  • Assist with the preparation of periodic financial reporting, management accounts, and other ad hoc reports
  • Support the annual audit process, including preparation of financial statements
  • Respond to routine audit queries and liaise with auditors as needed
  • Assist with annual tax and regulatory filings under supervision of senior team members
  • Carry out ad hoc tasks as directed by the team

Job Requirements:

  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and other IT platforms
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with double entry bookkeeping
  • Studying towards or intending to study a relevant accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CIMA)
  • Willingness to learn and a proactive, positive approach
  • Demonstrates high levels of integrity and discretion
