Job Title: Junior Claims Handler

Location: Remote Working

Type: Permanent (Full Time 37.5 hours per week)

Velonetic, representing joint ventures between DXC Technology, the International Underwriting Association (IUA), and Lloyd’s of London, has been operating for over 20 years in the London market, handling insurance and reinsurance business. We process over £101 billion worth of premium and claims transactions and are building a new digital platform to improve transaction efficiency and speed. Our core services include checks on insurance documents, processing premium and claims transactions.

Job Overview

We are seeking a candidate with strong insurance knowledge for the role of Junior Claims Handler. This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in technical insurance wordings and London Market Insurance across various business scenarios. The Junior Claims Handler reports to a Team Manager and performs technical checks and processes insurance documentation for different clients and classes of business, ensuring work meets quality and turnaround standards.

Training will be provided on insurance documentation and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical checks on insurance documentation for accuracy, identifying discrepancies or errors, using IT systems with supervision as needed.
  • Liaise with customers and brokers to resolve claims-related queries.
  • Manage own workload within handling authority limits.
  • Input data into databases to initiate settlements and updates.
  • Prepare accurate reports on claims processing and adjustments.
  • Support team members and clients with complex technical issues.
  • Provide training to new team members.
  • Participate in innovation and process improvement projects.
  • Review and validate insurance documentation.
