As we continue to grow, we have exciting new roles available within our Claims team in London, focusing on Financial Lines (including Cyber, Surety, and Credit and Political Risk), Marine, Property, and Aviation.

Role Purpose:

As a Claims Adjuster, you will handle, investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex claims underwritten from the UK on our Syndicate and Company platforms. You will be accountable for applying a proactive adjusting strategy across your portfolio, which includes the following:

  • Providing support to the Claims Leader within your specialist Line of Business such as Marine.

  • Ensuring a high standard of claims adjusting across the portfolio

  • Providing direction and handling in a lead and follow capacity

  • Working with underwriters and actuarial teams to provide insights on claims trends, wordings, and coverage matters

  • Managing large losses and establishing reserves and strategies deployed

  • Supporting our claims strategy with brokers and clients and delivering against key performance indicators

Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrating a tenacious work ethic with a focus on proactive case management, continuous development, and customer satisfaction

  • Delivering closure on cases within established case reserves

  • Identifying potential exposures and implementing clear and dynamic settlement strategies

  • Attending external market and client meetings to represent the company’s interests

  • Monitoring and managing investigation, adjustment, and litigation expenses within scope and budget

  • Assisting in the management and oversight of third-party administrators' claims authority

  • Exhibiting strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to all audiences

Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical expertise – ideally some experience and/or knowledge of insurance claims but not necessary

  • Collaborative approach – a proven team player with the capacity to work with peers in the market and persuade, influence, and drive decisions

  • Ideally some knowledge of Lloyd’s/London market

  • A high achiever with a passion for delivering quality reports and results often against tight deadlines

  • Organised and methodical approach to work

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess complex information and make informed decisions

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in documentation and compliance with regulations

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills to interact with claimants, colleagues, and other stakeholders

Professional Experience:

  • Degree standard or equivalent, or relevant industry experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • ECF2 and Trax experience is an added bonus
