Your new company, Hays, is working in partnership with a global provider of high-end consulting and engineering services, standing at the forefront of innovation. They are seeking to employ a Junior Civil Engineer to join their Water and Wastewater Infrastructure team. The company has a multidisciplinary team of experts across civil and structural engineering, water engineering, building services engineering, project management, building surveying, town planning, environmental specialists, and asset management. With a presence in over 400 locations worldwide, they combine the resources of a multibillion-dollar company with a client-focused approach.

Your new role: The talented Junior Engineer will join the Water Team in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with limited experience in water engineering to develop their skills in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and analysis of water-related engineering projects, including water supply, treatment, and distribution systems.
  • Support the preparation of status reports, basis-of-design descriptions, and other project-related documentation.
  • Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses for water infrastructure projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed engineering reports and supporting documents.
  • Support the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure standard engineering practices and proper documentation in reports and design projects.
  • Provide construction administration support, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and inspecting work for compliance.
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A strong foundation in engineering principles and a passion for water engineering.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under guidance and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in engineering software like AutoCAD, Civil3D, ICM, Microdrainage.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes, Highway Works specifications, Civil Engineering Water Industry standards, and Sewers For Adoption.
  • At least 3 years UK or Ireland experience.
