Job Opportunity: Junior Civil Engineer

Your new company, Hays, is working in partnership with a global provider of high-end consulting and engineering services, leading in innovation. They are seeking to employ a Junior Civil Engineer to join their Water and Wastewater Infrastructure team in Belfast.

About the Company: The company has a multidisciplinary team across diverse fields, including civil and structural engineering, water engineering, building services engineering, project management, building surveying, town planning, environmental specialists, and asset management. With a presence in over 400 locations worldwide, they combine substantial resources with a client-focused approach.

Your Role:

The Junior Engineer will support the Water Team, assisting with various water-related engineering projects and tasks, ideal for individuals with limited experience looking to develop their skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in designing and analyzing water supply, treatment, and distribution systems.
2. Support the preparation of reports, design descriptions, and project documentation.
3. Perform design calculations and analyses for water infrastructure projects.
4. Help prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
5. Ensure adherence to standard engineering practices and proper documentation.
6. Provide construction support, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and inspecting work for compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong foundation in engineering principles and interest in water engineering.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, ICM, Microdrainage.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, Highway Works Specifications, Civil Engineering Specifications for Water Industry, and Sewers For Adoption.
• At least 3 years of UK or Ireland experience.
