Job description

Job Title: Junior Civil Engineer

Our client, a global provider of high-end consulting and engineering services, is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join their Water and Wastewater Infrastructure team in Belfast. With a presence in over 400 locations worldwide, they combine extensive resources with a client-focused approach.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the design and analysis of water-related engineering projects, including water supply, treatment, and distribution systems.
  2. Support the preparation of status reports, basis-of-design descriptions, and other project-related documentation.
  3. Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses for water infrastructure projects.
  4. Assist in preparing detailed engineering reports and supporting documents.
  5. Support the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  6. Ensure adherence to standard engineering practices and proper documentation.
  7. Provide construction administration support, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and inspecting work for compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Strong foundation in engineering principles and a passion for water engineering.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, ICM, Microdrainage.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes, Highway Works Specification, Civil Engineering Specification for the Water Industry, and Sewers For Adoption.
  • At least 3 years of UK or Ireland experience.
