Job summary

A reputable engineering design consultancy is looking for a Junior CAD Technician in Swansea. The ideal candidate will have experience in 3D CAD Modelling, specifically with Mechanical, Piping, and/or Steelwork. Responsibilities include creating 3D models and 2D drawings across various industries. A minimum of ONC/HNC education and familiarity with AutoCAD/Plant Design Software is required. The role offers a permanent position with a salary range of £28k to £34k, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience with 3D AutoCAD/Plant Design Software.
• Basic knowledge of Pipework and/or Structural Steel design is required.
• Awareness of British, EN & ANSI standards is essential.

Overview

Junior CAD Technician – Salary: £28 - £34k, depending on experience. Location: Swansea. Duration: Permanent Position. A reputable, Swansea based Engineering Design Consultancy are looking to recruit a Junior CAD Technician for their growing design office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated CAD Technician to join an experienced engineering team. The ideal candidate will have some Mechanical, Piping and/or Steelwork 3D CAD Modelling experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD support to senior designers, creating 3D models and 2D detailed drawings for a variety of industries including Oil & Gas, Water & Sewage, Heavy Engineering and Process Plant.
• Work on projects that typically include bespoke process piping and associated structural steel including piping supports and access platforming.
• Assist with visits, surveys and 3D scanning on industrial sites.

Requirements

• ONC/HNC level of education as a minimum.
• 2+ years' minimum experience working with 3D AutoCAD/Plant Design Software.
• Some experience of Intergraph Cadworx Plant 3D, AutoCAD Advanced Steel and Revit would be a distinct advantage.
• Some basic knowledge of Pipework and/or Structural Steel design and construction drawings.
• Knowledge and awareness of British, EN & ANSI standards (Piping & Steelwork).
• Good communication, numeracy and IT skills.
