Junior CAD Technician

Salary: £25 - £30k, depending on experience

Location: Swansea

Duration: Permanent Position

A reputable, Swansea-based Engineering Design Consultancy is looking to recruit a Junior CAD Technician for their growing design office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated CAD Technician to gain valuable hands-on experience within the engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have Mechanical, Piping, and/or Steelwork 3D CAD Modelling experience.

The Role

You will form part of a close-knit team of skilled designers, creating 3D Models & 2D detailed drawings for a variety of industries including Oil & Gas, Water & Sewage, Heavy Engineering, and Process Plant. Most projects generally include a combination of bespoke process piping and associated structural steel including piping supports and access platforming, etc.

You will assist with visits, surveys, and 3D Scanning on numerous industrial sites.

Requirements

1. ONC/HNC level of education as a minimum.
2. 2+ years' minimum experience working with 3D AutoCAD/Plant Design Software.
3. Experience of Intergraph Cadworx Plant 3D, Autocad Advanced Steel, and Revit is a distinct advantage.
4. Experience of Autodesk Recap and utilization of 3D Point Cloud data.
5. Knowledge of Pipework and/or Structural Steel design and construction drawings.
6. Knowledge and awareness of British, EN & ANSI standards (Piping & Steelwork).
7. Good communication, numeracy, and IT skills.
