Job description

Marble Talent Group are seeking a Junior CAD Technician to join our client's growing team. The Junior CAD Technician will support the delivery of high-quality technical drawings across a variety of projects, including utility investigations, PAS128-compliant surveys, and topographical surveys. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stage of their career to gain hands-on experience in CAD and surveying within a collaborative, fast-paced consultancy environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings for utility mapping, topographical surveys, and site investigations.
  • Work from data collected on-site by survey teams to generate clear and professional CAD outputs.
  • Update and revise drawings based on survey results, engineering input, and client feedback.
  • Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and geospatial specialists to interpret technical data and translate it into CAD formats.
  • Maintain organised records of drawing files, layers, and revisions in line with internal protocols.
  • Support the preparation of deliverables for clients, such as base plans, utility overlays, and drawing packages.
  • Participate in training sessions to build technical knowledge in CAD standards, survey workflows, and geospatial data handling.
  • Assist with site data processing or visit sites (with supervision) to develop an understanding of field-to-desk workflows.

Our Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively within a team.
  • Organised and proactive, with a genuine interest in technical drawing and surveying.
  • Capable of managing time and workload with support from senior team members.

Desirable:

  • Experience or exposure to topographical or utility surveying (e.g., assisting with site work, processing survey data, or working with PAS128 outputs).
  • Familiarity with utility mapping, PAS128 survey classifications, or topographical survey deliverables.
  • Exposure to survey data formats such as CSV, SHP, or point cloud files.
  • Awareness of civil engineering, environmental, or infrastructure projects.
  • Interest in digital workflows, geospatial tools, or BIM processes.
