The Junior Buyer role reports to a Buyer/Category Manager, working together to deliver the best ranges for our customers and collaborating with teams such as Sourcing, Product Innovation, and Merchandising.

The role involves significant buying responsibilities and is a stepping stone toward becoming a buyer or category manager. The goal is to deliver profitable, customer-centric ranges and support day-to-day buying activities. Responsibilities include:

1. Developing customer-focused ranges with appropriate pricing and quality standards.
2. Building and maintaining supplier relationships, including overseas factories and UK-based brands.
3. Managing the critical path from briefing and sampling to product launch.
4. Negotiating cost prices and supplier funding to meet margin targets.
5. Range planning and product development for assigned ranges.
6. Participating in departmental strategy and sign-off sessions.
7. Reviewing sales performance and taking actions to improve best and worst sellers.
8. Monitoring market trends and customer activity through competitive analysis.
9. Delivering newness stories across platforms for current and future seasons.
10. Attending weekly and monthly trade meetings.
11. Performing website checks and resolving product setup issues.
12. Developing and motivating team members under the guidance of the Buyer/Category Manager.

Requirements for success as a Junior Buyer:

• Relevant degree and demonstration of skills through experience.
• Excellent administrative, communication, and organizational skills.
• Interest in homeware and customer-focused approach.
• Driven, motivated, and action-oriented.
• Experience in buying or related fields is essential.
