Job description

Welcome to Warner Bros. Discovery… the stuff dreams are made of.

Who We Are…

When we say, “the stuff dreams are made of,” we’re not just referring to the world of wizards, dragons and superheroes, or even to the wonders of Planet Earth. Behind WBD’s vast portfolio of iconic content and beloved brands are the storytellers bringing our characters to life, the creators bringing them to your living rooms, and the dreamers creating what’s next…

From brilliant creatives to technology trailblazers across the globe, WBD offers career-defining opportunities, thoughtfully curated benefits, and the tools to explore and grow into your best selves. Here you are supported, celebrated, and encouraged to thrive.

Following the success of the Warner Bros. Studio Tours in London and Hollywood, Warner Bros. Worldwide Tours and Retail division (WWTR) has expanded its experience in visitor engagement, customer service, and innovative merchandise, including experiential retail. The division includes Harry Potter New York and the Platform 9 ¾ shops at Kings Cross station.

The latest addition is Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo, opened in summer 2023, featuring authentic sets, props, and costumes from the Harry Potter films. Visitors can discover behind-the-scenes secrets of film production, explore Diagon Alley, enter the Great Hall, see moving portraits, and ride a broomstick, experiencing the magic of filmmaking firsthand. Since opening, the Studio Tour has received high ratings and remains sold out.

Your New Role…

This role as a key member of the Buying team involves developing and selecting products that meet sales and margin targets. You will work closely with vendors and licensees, manage the critical path to ensure timely product launches, and collaborate with Merchandising and Design to build a customer-focused, innovative product assortment suitable for the market.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  1. Review customer preferences and forecast trends across global territories.
  2. Manage the critical path from concept to shipping, ensuring launch dates are met and risks are highlighted.
  3. Present and manage product ranges during the sign-off process with senior leadership.
  4. Collaborate with trade categories to minimize threats and maximize opportunities.
  5. Build relationships with suppliers and onboard new suppliers with compliance support.
  6. Work with stakeholders across Merchandising, Design, Ecommerce, Retail, Marketing, and Consumer Products globally.
  7. Deliver category KPIs, supported by the Buyer when necessary.

Qualifications & Experiences…

  • At least 18 months experience as a Junior Buyer or Assistant Buyer.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Harry Potter franchise and brand DNA.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
