Position: Junior Buyer (Indirect Procurement)
Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £40,000

Are you looking to take the next step in your procurement career within a forward-thinking, globally scaling manufacturing business? This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Buyer to join a collaborative and growing team, working from state-of-the-art facilities in the West Midlands.

My client isseeking an enthusiastic and capable individual to support theirindirect procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have some experience in indirect categories—particularly within an automotive or manufacturing environment—and a strong desire to grow into a fully established Indirect Buyer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure indirect goods and services in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets.

  • Support the Indirect Procurement Manager and Buyers in managing supply chain issues.

  • Prepare and issue RFQs to suppliers.

  • Process purchase requisitions and release purchase orders in accordance with guidelines.

  • Maintain material management systems for recurring indirect spend items.

  • Build and manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent, professional communication.

  • Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders to resolve price, delivery, quality, or invoice issues.

  • Support supplier evaluations and contribute to performance reviews (quality, cost, delivery).

  • General procurement administration and housekeeping.

  • Maintain management information systems (MIS).

Candidate Requirements:
  • Confident in building and maintaining supplier relationships.

  • Keen to develop cross-functional internal relationships that enhance procurement's value.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is desirable.

  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.

  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise tasks.

  • Prior experience in indirect procurement within a manufacturing/automotive setting is preferred.
