About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer – Indirects to support our procurement team in sourcing and managing non-product-related goods and services. This includes categories such as marketing, IT, facilities, professional services, and travel. The ideal candidate is eager to grow their career in procurement, has strong analytical and communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the sourcing and procurement of indirect goods and services across multiple categories
- Support end-to-end procurement processes: RFQs, supplier evaluation, negotiations, contract support, and purchase order issuance
- Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts, pricing, and performance metrics
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of services
- Help monitor and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and process improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner
- Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner.
- When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training.
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills
Essential
- Previous experience in a buying role is essential.
- Previous administrative experience in the workplace is essential.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
- Great attention to detail, combined with excellent organisational skills and a passion for accuracy
- Analytical, numerically astute with proven problem-solving abilities
Desirable
- Proven purchasing experience, preferably within an aviation or manufacturing environment
Personal Attributes
- Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK
- Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK
- Team player who is capable of working autonomously
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- A professional and proactive approach
