Job summary

Jonathan Lee Group is looking for a proactive Junior Buyer to join our manufacturing procurement team in the Bolton area. This entry-point role focuses on buying responsibility, PO data accuracy, supplier follow-up, and weekly reporting, offering a clear development pathway.

You will build confidence with data handling, excel-driven tasks, and professional supplier communication, while supporting continuity across key PO processes as part of a supportive, detail-oriented team.

• Provide day-to-day PO administration cover during colleague absence.

What You Will Do:

• Keep purchase order records accurate, including required, promised, and latest delivery dates.
• Monitor open order reports to spot missing, overdue, or inconsistent information and resolve or escalated quickly.
• Support supplier On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) data quality and contribute to reliable procurement reporting.
• Chase suppliers for acknowledgements, updated delivery dates, and shipment confirmations to reduce risk of late deliveries.
• Help produce the weekly supplier OTIF report and maintain procurement KPI tracking for the team.
• Provide day-to-day operational cover for PO administration during colleague absence, supporting continuity across key processes.

What You Will Bring:

• Strong Excel skills and general IT literacy, with a comfortable approach to working with data.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to check information for accuracy and completeness.
• Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with suppliers and internal teams.
• Organisation and reliability when managing multiple open tasks and following up consistently.
• A proactive, ownership-minded attitude, ideally supported by experience in purchasing, supply chain, planning, or admin within a manufacturing setting.
