I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Junior Buyer to join a successful food retailer as part of their growing team on Core Grocery. This is a fully office based role located at their Birmingham.

You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Buyer to ensure continued growth in the department. You will have a lot of exposure and an opportunity to learn and develop your career to become a Buyer of the future

As a Junior Buyer, you will enjoy working in a busy fast paced environment some of your duties will include;

• Building relationships with suppliers
• Understanding product lines and relative timeframes
• Liaising with internal customers, suppliers and other departments
• Agreeing pricing & analysing figures within Excel
• Dealing with site and supplier queries
• Maintaining order data records and files
• Generating reports

Key requirement for the role;

• Experience of Buying within a retail environment
• Highly accurate with a good attention to detail
• Ability to manage a varied workload with conflicting deadlines
• Able to manage queries and recognise errors made internally / externally
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
• Good level of education - A degree is preferred but not essential
• Excellent understanding of all MS Office products specifically Excel
