Job summary

SMBC Group in London is seeking a Junior Business Architect to support the Target State Business Architecture for SMBC EMEA, covering capability maps, operating models and value streams. You will work across departments to ensure the architecture aligns with the business strategy and roadmap.

You will collaborate with Technology, Data, Compliance and Risk to deliver a holistic design, balancing governance, reporting and stakeholder alignment in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in defining service governance, SLAs, KPIs and reporting.
• Desirable: experience with service management tools.
• Experience designing target state business architecture (capability map, operating model, value streams, business services model).
• Experience gathering requirements and building business process designs to support lower level design and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design of the EMEA Target State Business Architecture (capability map, operating model, value streams, etc.).
• Maintain Current State Business Architecture to inform target state design and Roadmap development.

Overview

We’re looking for a Junior Business Architect for our TCMG Business Design team to support the design of Target State Business Architecture (capability map, operating model, value streams, business services model etc.) for SMBC EMEA (all departments and functions; all legal entities and branches).

Responsibilities

• Support the definition of business service model scope and governance processes including SLAs, OKRs, KPIs and reporting. Support service governance forums.
• Participate in the design of the EMEA Target State Business Architecture (capability map, operating model, value streams, business services model etc.).
• Maintenance of the Current State Business Architecture to a level of detail sufficient to inform the target state design and the development of the Roadmap.
• Collaboration with the Technology, Data, Compliance and Risk to develop a holistic target state design (encompassing business architecture, technical architecture and data architecture) that enables the business strategy of SMBC EMEA.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Business Service Management. Experience in defining service governance, SLAs, KPIs and reporting. Desirable: Experience with service management tools.
• Business Architecture Design. Desirable: Experience of designing target state business architecture (capability map, operating model, value streams, business services model etc.).
• Business Analysis. Experience of how to best gather requirements and build business process designs to support lower level design and delivery activities.
• Strategic thinking. Ability to understand and influence business strategy and the ability to suggest strategic transformation strategies and design target state business architecture.
• Stakeholder Management. Ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders and capable of influencing to gain agreement and resolve conflicting priorities in ambiguous environments.
• Communication. Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate effectively across the organisation. Able to convey complex topics simply and to articulate issues in a way that eases decision making and drives action.
• Influence. Able to influence and align resources across the organisation.
• Industry Knowledge. Desirable: knowledge of financial services industry (and beyond) and an ability to utilise that knowledge to enhance the capability at SMBC.
