Summary

We are looking for a motivated and analytical Junior Business Analyst to support the delivery of business and change initiatives across the organisation. The role will involve working closely with Product Owners, Change Managers, operational stakeholders, and delivery teams to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate requirements into practical solutions.

The successful candidate will support the analysis of business processes, customer journeys, operational issues, and potential change initiatives. They will help capture and document functional and non‑functional requirements, assess business and change impacts, support backlog prioritisation, and contribute to the development of solution options.

This role is suited to someone who is curious, organised, commercially aware, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside an ability to analyse information, understand complex business processes, and use data to support fact‑based decision making.

The Junior Business Analyst will also contribute to governance, risk, compliance, testing, implementation, and post‑implementation activities, gaining broad exposure to business analysis and change delivery within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide design thinking and expert knowledge supporting deliverables that underpin our strategy.
• Help to develop optimal business solutions that deliver customer‑centric outcomes as well as scale and efficiency within the enterprise.
• Responsible for investigating operational issues, problems, and new opportunities. Finds and presents effective business solutions through improvements in aspects of business operations and business systems.
• Recommend improvements / solutions to problems to the Product Owner that are in line with Value Stream objectives.
• Assess team backlog and provide clarifications and business insight into potential work items based on an in‑depth understanding of the business situation / context.
• Evaluate and provide assessment and alignment of potential work items in the backlog to VS objectives and key results, specifying realistic target contributions to specific OKRs.
• Support the Product Owner to prioritise the team backlog by providing insight based on business knowledge, investigations, and analysis.
• Provide initial high‑level options for solution design, factoring feasibility (commercial, business, technical, delivery, etc.) and business / change impact.
• Build and maintain an understanding of the end‑to‑end business context around the product / services, including customer journeys.
• Build and maintain relationships with key operational stakeholders who use or are impacted by the product / services.
• Understand any business and policy constraints that need to be considered and assess the implications.
• Perform additional detailed E2E analysis (eligibility, touchpoints, integrations, dependencies, operational needs, security, regulatory & compliance requirements) where required.
• Assess and document the business / change impact of potential work items in the backlog on all teams (both upstream and downstream), factoring in known external items, seasonal issues, other operational concerns, existing or committed work items, and other delivery dependencies.
• Capture and document functional requirements through various discovery activities (customer data assessment, stakeholder interviews, journey flows, including unhappy paths, business rules, etc.).
• Identify and document relevant non‑functional requirements (based on regulatory requirements, accessibility standards, compliance and risk controls, technical standards, etc.).
• Support Senior Change Managers in collaborating with Product Owners and the Testing Manager to ensure clearly defined criteria for acceptance are in place and that all aspects of testing are successfully completed prior to implementation (including UAT, Post Implementation Validation and benefits tracking).

Requirements (Skills/Experience):

• Work experience in dynamic and fast‑paced environments, and/or other high‑growth businesses in the Financial Services and/or Technology industries.
• Be culturally sensitive and passionate about building and working with diverse teams.
• A strategic thinker with strong execution skills and a proven ability to apply change management principles and methodologies to drive change in a regulated environment.
• An understanding of governance principles, best practice, and legal and regulatory requirements, with a proven ability to identify risks associated with large‑scale change and transformation initiatives.
• Ability to think at a strategic level while simultaneously rolling up the sleeves to solve key opportunities and problems.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining impeccable judgement and attention to detail.
• Excellent business and financial acumen, and the ability to find and use data and analysis effectively to assist in fact‑based decision‑making.
